Order to block more than 50 tweets
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued instructions to block several YouTube videos playing the first episode of the BBC documentary. According to sources, the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs and I&B examined the documentary and considered the BBC series as an attempt to create hatred among the people, assail the authority and credibility of the Supreme Court. Kanchan Gupta, Advisor, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting tweeted and shared the update. He wrote- BBC’s obnoxious propaganda was found to undermine India’s sovereignty and integrity and had the potential to adversely affect India’s friendly relations with foreign countries as well as public order within the country.
Tweets sharing links to dangerous propaganda and anti-India garbage masquerading as a BBCWorld documentary on YouTube have been blocked under India’s sovereign laws and regulations. He also informed that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has ordered the blocking of several YouTube videos of the first episode of the documentary ‘India: The Modi Question’ as well as Twitter to block over 50 tweets containing links to these videos. Orders have also been issued to
