Philippines is a democratic country where the power must be vested in its people. And authoritative regime is hated and discouraged. But it is here, there’s a hyper-presidency which implies dictatorship. In Philippine’s History there was a time a critical juncture which is the martial law and this time the dictatorship regime is manifested because the authority is centered to the President that time. A lots of killings and violence have taken place that time and rights are being trampled and are just neglected the very essence of democracy is not visible because of the martial law. Although there’s a reason why it was implemented but we cannot deny that there are lots of human rights was taken away from the People that time. And thanks to those people who really fought for the individual rights and for democracy to be upheld the People Power Revolution took place and pave way for the dictatorship regime to be stopped. In viewing these political phenomena we should not view it one-sided because we can’t also deny that there are somehow changes in our society in that specific political phenomena. In our recent election a lots of anti-marcos have fought to never let BBM be the President because of the History of his father but 31M have also fought in order for BBM to be the President. A lot of speculation have spread about the anomalies in the election which is somehow normal long before up until now. So the point is whether BBM will follow the footsteps of his father or have his own ideals. For now, we cannot conclude things because 6 year term of BBM has not yet finish and it’s a bit far from the finish line. We can judge if they will have the same pattern. Do they have any difference or they are just the same. Let’s see this administration and wait for the results
